PART 3: SHORT CONVERSATION 1/ Format of Short Conversation - Directions: 30 seconds - 30 Questions - 10 Conversations - 3 questions/ conversation - 16 seconds to transfer answers to the answer sheet 2/ Key to success - Đọc lướt qua 3 câu hỏi và các câu trả lời - Khảo sát và ghi nhớ từ khóa - Xâu chuỗi logic 3 câu hỏi - Xác định hành động của nhân vật nam hay nữ và tập trung vào giọng của họ, không nghe quá lang mang. - Trong quá trình nghe, mắt phải liếc nhìn liên tục các từ khóa. - Chú ý các cụm từ đồng nghĩa: two hours ~ a couple of hours,… 3/ Topic questions - Question examples: Câu hỏi MỤC ĐÍCH o What are the speakers talking about? o What are the speakers discussing? o What are the man and the woman talking about? o What topic is being discussed? o What is the topic of the conversation? o What is the subject of the conversation? o What kind of company does the man work for o What is being celebrated?  Thông thường từ khóa hay xuất hiện ở đầu của đoạn hội thoại  Chú ý lắng nghe các từ liên quan THỰC HÀNH THEO TRÌNH TỰNÀY MỚI HIỆU QUẢ CÁC E NHÉ bước thực hành như sau: - Thực hiện theo các bước ở phần “Key to success” ở phần hướng dẫn trên - Nghe qua 1, 2 lần - Giờ thì mở phần Scripts ra: Đọc và dịch xem đoạn hội thoại này nói về cái gì: Người Nam nói gì, người Nữ phản hồi ra sao  NẮM RÕ NỘI DUNG đoạn hội thoại và GẠCH CHÂN CÁC TỪ KHÓA để ghi nhớ nào! Em nào muốn thành master thì thử chép lại đoạn hội thoại ra giấy 1 lần thôi! - Úp đoạn scripts lại, mở file nghe và nghe lại. BẢO ĐẢM GIỜ CÁC EM NGHE DỄ HƠN RẤT NHIỀU PHẢI KHÔNG ! NGHE ĐI, NGHE LẠI 3 LẦN NÀO. GIỜ THÌ NGHE ĐOẠN KHÁC, ĐOẠN NÀY 2 NGÀY SAU CÁC EM NGHE LẠI VẪN NHỚ ĐẤY! - Question examples: Câu hỏi NƠI CHỐN o Where are the speakers? o Where does the conversation probably taking place? o Where do the speakers probably work? o What deparment does John most likely work in? o Where will the woman go first? o Where did the man plan to go on Saturday?  Lắng nghe các từ liên quan và phải học từ vựng theo chủ đề. Một số nơi chốn và từ vựng liên quan ra thi rất nhiều trong đề thi toeic. 1/ At the shipping office: shipment, delivery, send, fax, return, order, packages, receive, arrive, invoice… 2/ At an office building: cabinet, bookshelf, assistant, conference room, …. 3/ At the restaurant: dishes, good, menu, order, lunch, dinner, specials, food, eat, drinks, waiter/ waitress… 4/ Post office: send, letter, stamp, post mail,… 5/ Interview: interview, position, recruit, deparment, sales, human resources (HR), duty of this position, accounting division, marketing division, business division, experience, field, application form, resume, cover letter,… 6/ Airport: check in, bags, luggage, fight, plane, passengers, board… 7/ Hotel: check in, book, lounge, hall, room number, reservation… 8/ Bank: cash, account, client, credit card, banksteller 9/ Dự báo thời tiết: weather, sunshine, heavy rain, thunderstorms, temperature, umbrella - Question examples: Câu hỏi NGHỀ NGHIỆP o Who is the man? o Who is the woman? o Who are the speaker? o What’s the man’s occupation? o What’s the woman’s occupation? o What’s the man’s job? o What’s the woman’s job?  Có thể suy đoán theo ngữ cảnh hoặc kinh nghiệm. Giả dụ, giọng nam mở đầu bằng Welcome to …………  khả năng ông này là nhân viên của cái “…” đó, còn bà kia là “customer” nhỉ! Cứ tưởng tượng ra tình huống thực tế chúng ta cũng có thể phán đoán được! Nghe nhiều và tự rút kinh nghiệm các e nhé !!! - Question examples: Câu hỏi về HÀNH ĐỘNG, VIỆC LÀM  Đọc câu hỏi xem người sẽ làm việc đó là NAM hay NỮ và nghe giọng của họ o What will the woman do?  Tập trung vào giọng nữ o What does the woman ask the man to do?  Tập trung vào giọng nữ o What will the man probably do next?  Tập trung vào giọng nam * MỘT SỐ MẸO THI MÀ MỌI NGƢỜI KHÔNG CHÚ Ý ĐẾN.
